Chromeo Life > Real Life
New York via Montreal electro-funk duo Chromeo (Dave 1 and P-Thugg) are set to release their fourth studio album, White Women, later this winter on Atlantic Records. The LP will include a who’s-who of suave indie artists, like Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem, Solange, and Chaz Bundick (Toro Y Moi). In their latest music video for “Come Alive,” they’ve recruited White Women collaborator Toro Y Moi to play a “get lucky” janitor. But he’s not the only one winning in this clip; Chromeo frontman Dave 1 is too (P-Thugg settles on being the aloof security guard). Like every Chromeo video, it’s classic Chromeo cool, which means there’s a little bit of science fiction, plenty of beautiful women, and swag for days. I won’t give away too much more, but if you enjoyed the ridiculous 1987 fantasy flick Mannequin, then this video is for you. Again, just total classic Chromeo cool.
